Important moment in your life:

The most important moment in my life was when I was told I had a tumor on my brain. My parents had been taking me to many doctors and I had many MRIs and tests done to figure out why I couldn’t move my left ankle and foot. I couldn’t compete in dance competitions and I couldn’t walk normally. 

In September 15, 2020, I went for another MRI, but this time I was told to go straight to the hospital. 

How I felt:

I was shocked and scared. I had never been to the hospital before. I knew that a brain tumor was serious and they had told us it was big and I knew that wasn’t good. 

Seeing and hearing:

I remember talking to my mom in the car about what a tumor was. I remember crying and wondering if I was going to be ok. I remember my mom telling me everything was going to be ok and we were going to fix it. I remember many doctors coming in and out to see me. I remember the sounds that the MRI machine make. I remember the sounds of all the machines in my hospital room. 

But I also remember the doctor telling me in February 2021 that the tumor was gone! After surgery and radiation, there was only scar tissue where the tumor once was. 

Ambassador:

After what I have been through, I wanted to somehow help other children who might be going through the same thing. I am finally able to dance again and at one competition I heard about a foundation that could help me do that.  I did some research and applied to be an ambassador for them and am so happy to have been accepted as one. As an ambassador, the foundation will contact me if children around where I live are going through something similar to what I have gone through and I will be able to speak to them and hopefully help them feel better.
