Diagnosed at age 19, Neil Fachon was an outlier in more ways than one. He was a college student, studying industrial engineering at Northeastern University. He dressed up with sword and shield the Halloween before his diagnosis. As a brave knight facing the horrible dragon of DIPG, he ventured out on a different path, denying radiation therapy and choosing controversial antineoplaston (ANP) treatment at the Burzynski Clinic. As Neil approached each hurdle in his battle, he remained positive. This is the meaning of the tag line "Think like a proton."
