Beckham was diagnosed with DMG on August 1st, just two days into our vacation in Florida. I woke up to him yelling for me on the floor, he woke up paralyzed from the waist down. He underwent surgery to relieve pressure and to get a biopsy from the “inoperable tumor”. To our surprise the surgeon got almost all of the tumor. Beckham just had his last treatment of proton radiation on October 16th. We finally brought him home on October 18th after months of being away from family, siblings & friends. Beckham continues to go to PT & OT three times a week to continue stabilizing his trunk along with hopes that maybe one day he can regain mobility in his legs.
