Grace Desserich Virtual and Packaged Events Coordinator

Grace Desserich, Virtual and Packaged Events Coordinator

Grace is a sibling of Elena Desserich, who was diagnosed with DIPG in 2006. She has been volunteering with The Cure Starts Now since her sister’s passing in 2007. She loves meeting and connecting with new people as well as opening the doors to help others get involved in helping us find a cure.

1. What brought you to CSN?
I grew up in the charity. Elena Desserich is my older sister and after watching her go through her battle, there was no way I wouldn't get involved. I spent a lot of my childhood traveling around to all our different events and meeting other kids like my sister, and I knew I had to help!

2. What I do at CSN
I am an Virtual and Packaged Event Manager. This means that I handle a lot of our third party events as well as our national fundraising campaigns. My job is to make it as easy as possible for people to organically fundraise!

3. What I like most about my job
I love seeing the results, especially after creating something brand new. It feels great to work so hard to create a new fundraiser and project and see it really pay off and help so many kids. It is also great to see the results of the research we fund and knowing that we really do make a difference!

4. What moment have you cherished most at CSN?
I love connecting with families! Whether it is through a fundraiser or virtually, I love meeting them and getting the chance to love and honor their kiddos.

5. Many people would be surprised if they knew I…
I played Division 1 rugby in college with no experience in the sport!
